Entry #3 The Fresh Reset
After football practice, I pulled a small wrapper in a green plastic bag from my bag. The sound of the wrapper crackling in my hands was loud enough to overcome my sense of tiredness. When I took one out, it felt cool and smooth in my hand, almost like a tiny piece of ice.
As soon as I placed it on my tongue, a strong wave of cold rushed through my mouth. It woke me up the same way stepping onto the field on a cold morning does. The first crunch was sharp and clean, washing away the taste of sweat and Gatorade. While it melted, the chill slid down my throat, and for a moment it felt like the whole day reset.
By the time it was gone, I felt lighter, like I could breathe again. I almost grabbed another one, but letting the cool feeling fade slowly felt better, kind of like catching your breath after a long drive during practice.
Good start with using sensory details to describe this experience. Keep pushing yourself!
