Entry #9 Paint the town Red40

Image
I was doing research, and I came across and clicked on a website that says Why is red 40 banned and I was very curious, so I clicked on to see what it was talking about and knowing it is banned in multiple countries. Red 40 surprises me, and how common it is, and how little most of us think about it. Red 40 shows up in everything from candy to sports drinks to cereal. It's basically used to make food look more exciting and more appealing. But what caught my eye is that this dye has been linked to things like ADHD and hyperactivity in kids, and something added just for color can still have an effect on the body.   Learning about it made me look at colorful food differently. Just because something is bright and colorful doesn't make it better sometimes it just means it's been processed more. It made me realize how often we judge food by how it looks instead of what's actually in it and what it can do to are body. My main takeaway is that it's worth paying attention t...

Entry #10 Blind Dream

Image
Hello classmates! For my last blog post, I really wanted to talk about whether blind people see in their dreams. Shocking that they are unable to see in their dreams because their brains never experience sight. Their dreams consist only of sound, smell, and touch, etc. So overall, their dreams only consist of things they've encountered. This can be important to those who've never experienced being blind or known someone who was blind firsthand. Image Source To add on, this is very important to know because being blind is not always developed at birth and can occur later on in life to anyone, so knowing this can educate many people, as it can be them who become blind one day. Blind To end this blog post, I hope I have educated those who did not know how sleeping is for those who are blind and help others get a clear understanding of life for blind people.

Entry #8 How to use a 100 percent of your brain

Hey, my fellow classmates! Did you know there have been theories that you can use close to 100 percent of your brain? I learned this from a Gia gov document that I read. The theories state that you can use close to 100 percent of your brain through hypnosis, transcendental meditation, and biofeedback.  Gia.Government Hypnosis works by relaxing the mind so the part that usually questions things becomes quieter. When that happens, suggestions can reach the deeper part of your brain more easily, making you more open to ideas. Transcendental meditation is a simple thing you practice where you sit down quietly in a quiet environment and repeat a personal mantra to help your mind relax. By focusing on the mantra, your thoughts slow down, and you enter a calm, peaceful state that can reduce stress and improve focus. Biofeedback is a way you can use sensors to show you things like your heart rate or muscle tension, so you can learn to control them. By watching your body's reactions o...
